I had lunch there today, along with a group of girlfriends. The food and atmosphere were both wonderful.

I came to Las Tortugas for the first time yesterday and tried the fish tacos, even though I hate fish tacos. I LOVED them! I even came back today and had a fish tortuga. And the guacamole was incredible. Thanks for a great lunch two days in a row and converting me to being a fish-taco-eater!

Pepe and Johnathon,
I had always heard about how great the Mexican deli was, but for the longest time it just never crossed my to stop there when I was hungry. One afternoon my wife and I finally remembered and boy are we ever glad we did. We only first sampled your excellent fare just about a year ago, and I kid you not, we have eaten with you guys on average of at least once or twice/month since then!
The spicy gulf shrimp top the list of foods that I, personally, crave and they draw me back every time. Quezon fundido is a great way to warm my palete up for the flavors they are about going to experience with the tacos! The elote is one of the most unique. foods I have ever eaten and is a staple of my order, on every visit. Our 19 month old daughter even loves the elote. She finished an entire ear of corn on her own, just this past weekend.
Thank you both, as well as your staff, for the wonderful dishes that you provide. Great food, excellent service, awesome people.

I’ve been coming to Memphis from Chicago for more than a year for work and just learned of your wonderful restaurant. A client recommended I try your restaurant when I shared my passion for authentic Mexican food with her. I’ve traveled throughout Mexico and believe your food rivals if not surpasses many of the places I’ve tried - although I have not been Oaxaca yet! I believe Las Tortugas to be a true gem in a sea of bad Americanized cheese-encassed Mexican food. Thank you! I’m relieved that I will be in Memphis in less than two weeks and can enjoy more of your delicious food.

I visited your Restaurant first time in Aug 2009. Since then, I have made 4 more visits with my family to taste the “True Authentic Mexican” Cuisine. Without exception, each time I have been satisfied with the quality of food, the ambience & especially the warmth of your welcome & the way the food is served with a smile! Having eaten here, I don’t want to go to any other MEXICAN Restaurant. Las Tortugas is easily the best quality I have enjoyed. I commend you on a job well done. Gracias “Pepe” & Jonathan for your outstanding hospitality we have enjoyed on each of our visits. We have highly recommended you to our friends.

My friend and I ate here last night 12/11/10 for the first time. The owner’s son walked us through the menu and our food was so fresh and tasty just as he said it would be. I live in Oxford, MS and will be back soon! Haven’t tasted anything like this since I moved back from San Francisco!

I live in New Orleans now, but every time I come home to see my parents it is a requirement that I come to Las Tortugas to have scallop sandwich. It is my favorite thing to eat in the entire world, and I live in New Orleans! Wonderful job, and the nicest staff anyone could ask for. Great job, Jonathan!

Don’t change a thing - This is the BEST place and by far the BEST food! I have to drive out of my way to come to your restaurant, but it is well worth the drive and well worth any wait too!! You just can’t compare this restaurant with others because it is on a completely different level!!
