Tortugas or Tacos
A Tortuga, or ‘turtle’, is a loaf of bread we bake fresh every day. As the loaf of bread comes out of the oven in it hollowed out by hand and grilled. We use only the shell of the bread and for that reason the slang is Tortuga!
Each torta has the following garnishes:Fresh avocado, roma tomatoes, Queso Fresco Farmers cheese, Shredded Lettuce, Poblano peppers, Sliced sweet onion and a spread of garlic pinto beans.
An order of tacos is served 4 small soft tacos per order with 2 kinds of fresh salsa, a lettuce and spiced cucumber salad and hand cut tostada chips. Each taco is then garnished with fresh avocado, lime, cilantro, sweet onion and salsa tayde.
Each choice below can be prepared either way.
